Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about finding opportunities through this site, understanding the data, and suggesting updates.
Finding Roles
How do I apply to these companies?
Use the links on each company card to visit the official website, careers page, or LinkedIn profile. If a public email address is available, you can also reach out directly with a focused note and resume.
This site helps you discover companies and navigate to official channels. It does not process applications itself.
What do the discipline tags mean?
Discipline tags show which academic or technical backgrounds are likely to be relevant to a company's work.
They do not guarantee that the company currently has an open role in that area.
Can I filter by multiple criteria?
Yes. The category dropdown, discipline dropdown, and search box all work together. Select a category, choose a discipline, and type a keyword — only companies matching all three criteria will be shown.
Why are some career pages or emails missing?
Not all companies maintain a public careers page. Some hire through LinkedIn, direct outreach, referrals, or occasional posts on their own website. If a public email address is available, that can also be a useful route for outreach.
Is this site meant for students and freshers?
Yes. One of the main goals of this site is to help students, recent graduates, researchers, and early-career engineers and scientists discover startups they might otherwise never encounter through mainstream job boards or their usual hiring channels.
Are internships included?
This site is not an internship board, but some listed companies may offer internships, research roles, or trainee positions through their own channels. Check company websites, careers pages, and LinkedIn profiles for current openings.
Is this a job board?
No. This site helps you identify deeptech hardware startups and reach their official channels, but it does not guarantee active openings.
What if a company is not visibly hiring?
Some startups hire opportunistically even when they do not have a formal public job listing. If your background is relevant, it can still be worth researching the company and reaching out through official channels with a specific, well-targeted note.
How This Site Works
How often is the data updated?
The database is updated on a rolling basis, but not in real time. Company websites, careers pages, LinkedIn profiles, and contact details can change between updates.
How accurate is the data?
The data is compiled from public sources and reviewed manually, but it should still be treated as a starting point rather than a guarantee. Always verify details on the company's official website before applying.
Selection, Corrections, and Submissions
How are companies selected?
Companies are included based on the following criteria:
- Deeptech hardware relevance — the company builds products or systems that depend on real engineering or scientific depth
- India relevance — the company is based in India or has significant operations or R&D in India
- Funded — has raised institutional funding (seed, Series A, or beyond)
- Operational credibility — the company appears active, real, and within the scope of the site
- Vibe Check — the company is assessed for technical depth, relevance to engineering or scientific talent, and fit with the site's scope
How can I submit a company?
If a company fits the criteria above, email hello@deeptechcareers.xyz with the company name, website, sector, and a short note explaining why it belongs on the site. Only emails from the company domain name will be considered.
I found an error. How do I report it?
Email hello@deeptechcareers.xyz with the company name and a brief description of what needs fixing. Helpful source links are appreciated.
